Affiliate Disclosure
How this site makes money, and why that doesn't decide what we recommend.
Last updated: September 14, 2026
The short version
PlainWP is free to read. It's funded by affiliate links. When you click one of these links and buy something, the company may pay us a commission. You don't pay anything extra. The price is the same as going to the company's site directly.
Which programs we're part of
We currently have affiliate relationships with:
- SiteGround
- Hostinger
- ChemiCloud
- GreenGeeks
- ScalaHosting
- UltaHost
- Kamatera
- Evoxt
- AccuWebHosting
- GeneratePress
We'll update this list if it changes.
How affiliate links are marked
- Every article with affiliate links shows a short disclosure at the top.
- Affiliate links are tagged with
rel="sponsored", the way search engines ask for paid links to be marked. - Buttons and banners that point to a provider's site are affiliate links unless we say otherwise.
How commissions do (and don't) affect recommendations
- We recommend by situation. Different readers need different things, so a product is recommended for the use case it actually fits, not because its program pays the most.
- We publish the downsides. Reviews and comparisons include real drawbacks, like renewal price increases or plan limits, including for products we earn commissions from.
- We don't invent data. Prices and plan details come from each provider's own site, and every table carries the date it was checked, so you can see how current it is.
- Companies don't approve our content. No affiliate partner reviews or signs off on what we publish.
Discounts and coupons
If we mention a discount, it's one we've confirmed is real at the time of writing. Promotions change often, so always check the final price on the provider's checkout page before you buy.
